The rather plump, fur-coated man on the throne peered at them with squinched up eyes.“How dare you!” He shook a plump finger at them, as if incredulous.
Phil peered up at the rather furry Ape-man prime minister. “Huh?” Sketch glanced at the window, and twirled an electric dagger. He stalked over to it.
“Call me that…that is an unforgivable offense!” He waved his arms wildly, rocking back on his throne. “Guards!”
“Yes sir?” One of them poked his head in the door, his helmet bobbing up and down on his head.
“Arrest them!” His Fluffiness called.
“Why?” The guard asked, entering the room.
The Prime Minister erupted up out of his throne, wobbling on his legs. “Because I said it so!”
“Sir, this is a democracy. I’m going to need a case before I can arrest these visitors.” The guard persisted, frowning.
The Prime Minister’s mouth dropped a bit. “Insubordination…” he whispered.
“No, I’m just following the writ of the Corpolus Habeas.”
“The what?” His Fluffiness asked, clearly confused.
“The document that is the guiding force behind this government.” The soldier stepped up to the Prime Minister’s chair, and leaned on the arm rest. “You should read it, it’s very nicely worded. Lots of fancy phrases.”
The Prime Minister scooted as far away from the guard as possible. “Soldier, step away from the High Chair.”
“Actually, I am allowed to lean on this chair according to paragraph 4 of section 7, just so long as I don’t soil it.” He leaned in closer. “They covered just about everything in that document.”
The Prime Minister glanced around. “Where’d my prisoners go?”
“They weren’t your prisoners, they were your visitors. And they hopped out the window and then flew off.” The guard glanced to the broken glass. “The door was even open…”
Luke aka Merry: “I have something for you” I said, smirking.
“Is it a present for being a good brother?” Tommy asked.
“No, a letter” I answered.
I handed the letter to my little brother. Tommy opened the letter.
“Did you finish?” I asked, impatiently.
“Riley, I haven’t even started yet” Tommy answered.
When he finished reading and looked up at me, I asked: “So, are you sorry?”
“I have some thoughts” Tommy answered.
“What are they?” I asked.
“You then mention ‘it’s all your fault’, quite a lot” Tommy said. “And more specifically six times”
“Well it is your fault!” I exclaimed. “You ripped my stuff bear to pieces!”
“Riley, I was four and I don’t remember” Tommy replied.
Tommy put his hand on my left shoulder and said: “If still remember this you probably didn’t move on about his, ‘Grand High Fluffiness’.”
Maria #2 aka Fili: “Well ‘scuse me.” Kieran mock bowed, spreading his hands. “Your grand high fluffiness.” His lip curled, a mixture of a sneer and a grin.
Gui’s face remained impassive, though Lya and Shiro had gone awfully still. His hands kept moving, weaving the wicker and dirty sheeps wool as if he had suggested chicken for dinner.
“I expect you to do what is needed. If you want to continue to come back here and help care for the girl you must be a part of her protection.”
Kieran’s face fell into a rutted scowl, and he stood, knocking his stool back and placing his open hands on the table. “If I’m gong to keep helping you idiots I expect to be treated better than a sprite,” he spat.
“Sa.” Lya had stood, and moved to put a hand on Gui’s shoulder, her figure wavering. “Respect is of the seven courtesies. You must consider this.”
Gui set his work down without looking up. “He will get respect when he has earned it.”
